Rather than pay to watch great programming, Tubi has a way of providing it for free. The issue is that with everything free, there are going to be some bombs.
Anyone can make a video. That became evident when YouTube became a hit. You can make just about anything you want and upload it yourself. The process really couldn’t be any easier.
But Tubi isn’t YouTube. It has some great movies on it like Jaws, The LEGO Movie, and The Fugitive. Sometimes, it’s a good streaming platform to watch movies or shows that are fairly new. But it’s always a great service for finding the old ones. You won’t believe what pure gold you can find when you just get on there and look around.
Of course, there are some hilarious spoofs like The Starving Games, Super Fast, Breaking Wind, Tooken, and The 41 Year Old Virgin Who Knocked Up Sarah Marshall and Felt Superbad About It. I think I even saw Cocaine Shark in the lineup.
The thing is that Tubi has turned itself into a streaming platform that will literally take anything. If you put in $100 and film a movie with just you and your friends with a script that isn’t even good, you’ll become a Tubi star if you go through the right channels. And if your movie is bad enough to be a cult classic, you can become a millionaire overnight.
When fans are clowning about the movies they’re finding on Tubi, this is what they’re talking about:
That’s it. That’s about as good as your movie needs to be to get approved for the Tubi streaming platform. Just to be fair, the steps for becoming an overnight sensation are on the Filmhub website, a third-party aggregator that will facilitate the process for you.
No blood splatter. No sound effects. It’s like they’re not even trying.
Then, along comes this. This isn’t on Tubi, but it should be. It straight-up makes fun of Tubi, and it hits all the jokes. It even incorporates some humor from what is infamously being called the Montgomery Riverfront Brawl.
When she showed up behind him after she was supposed to be dead, I couldn’t catch my breath. This is too good and they need to just go ahead and make it, a whole movie just like this.
