Wouldn’t it be great to spill your guts with all your secrets and all your worries without anyone making fun of you or posting nasty comments at your expense? We Listen We Don’t Judge has an innocent notion that this is possible and there are people in this world who know the assignment. What’s wrong is not everyone’s on board and anyone caught up in the challenge should be careful because they are definitely going to get judged.
Red Table Talk was the We Listen We Don’t Judge before We Listen We Don’t Judge became a thing. Again, it was a good notion that three generations of women came up with starting with Adrienne Banfield-Norris, her daughter Jada Pinkett Smith, and her daughter Willow Smith. It would have been a great idea but the only problem was, there were cameras in everyone’s face.
Taking a closer look at one episode in particular, Will Smith was on the show in 2020 discussing Jada’s relationship with August Alsina. She “got into an entanglement” with the sidekick and thought it would be a good idea to be open about it at the infamous Red Table, the place where anyone can say anything and feelings won’t get hurt because it’s a safe place to talk. That is except for the cameras in everyone’s face and the fact that it’s a Facebook production that will air for all three billion monthly active users to watch.
While millions of users were poking fun at Will Smith’s expense because he sat there and pretended to laugh while Jada told the story of her extracurricular activities without caring one bit about the hurt she was putting him through, I saw the pain. He was hurt and no red table was going to protect him from that. Facebook eventually cut the series and I think that was a great idea because the people managing the red table had no idea how dangerous it could actually be.
Along comes We Listen We Don’t Judge with the same premise. From what I’ve seen of it so far, it looks fun. TikTokers are having fun with it because they know the assignment. But that’s only for the TTs in the videos. As far as the comments, not so much.

Some confessions are hilarious! Like the guy who confessed that when he first hung out with his future wife, he drunk-texted the wrong girl later that night. Then his wife confessed that early in their relationship, she dinged his car door and didn’t tell him about it. Actual confessions from the YouTube channel Jatie Vlogs starring Josh and Katie Brueckner.
We Listen We Don’t Judge can be fun if you keep it that way. Just remember that there are people who are going to listen and start judging right away. So, if you’ve ever been mean to a puppy or robbed a bank, I would keep that to myself.
